UAF CTC Student Services & Registration Center allows you to take care of all of your university related needs in one convenient location. Services include registering for classes, paying tuition and fees, financial aid advising, placement testing, AKCIS Career Information, obtaining your PolarExpress student ID card, parking and more.
Registering for Classes
Our student services team is available to help you register for classes. We can help you register in person or provide assistance to support your online registration. We also are available to help you make changes to your registration and answer any questions you have about registering for classes.
Paying Tuition & Fees
Our student services team is available to provide in-person payment processing services for paying your tuition and fees. We can also provide assistance to help you make payments online.
Placement Testing
Placement assessment services are available through UAF CTC Student Services on a walk-in basis, Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Special appointments can be made by calling (907) 455-2800.
Military Student Support
Specialized military student advising is available by phone, online, or in-person at UAF CTC’s downtown center. Get started by creating an account at the ArmyIgnitED Information Portal. AKCIS - College Planning & Career Guidance
The AKCIS is a free comprehensive college planning and career guidance system available to Alaskan residents. The system is an interactive web-based system that provides college planning information and career exploration tools for people throughout Alaska.
How to get started:
1. Go to AKCIS at: https://acpe.alaska.gov/PLANNING/Education_Planning/AKCIS
2. Log in: UAFCTC (username) and 4Student (password)
ID Cards (PolarExpress)
The PolarExpress card is your permanent, official university identification card. It is more than an ID card. Your card may be used to provide you special access to classrooms and labs at UAF CTC. You can also deposit money in your PolarExpress card balance and pay for goods at all dining services locations, vending machines, photocopiers and the book store.
You can get a PolarExpress card at UAF CTC, Room 110. Please bring valid photo identification when you stop by to have your picture taken for your new PolarExpress Card.
There is a $10 fee for a replacement card. If your card is lost, stolen or damaged, you must report it immediately by calling (907) 474-7384 to deactivate you card. Replacement cards can be obtained at UAF CTC, 604 Barnette Street, Room 110. If you find your card after reporting it lost, you must come to our office to reactivate it.
Parking Decals & Permits
If you plan to park a vehicle at any on or off-campus UA, UAF, or UAF Community & Technical College location, you are required to have a parking decal or permit displayed on the vehicle at all times, including evenings.
Long-term parking decals and short-term permits can be purchased and/or picked up at UAF CTC, 604 Barnette Street, Room 110.
