Over 30 different scholarships are exclusively available to students enrolled in UAF CTC programs. These scholarships are made available through individual and local industry donors and highlight the individual and industry support UAF CTC and its mission to develop a work-ready workforce. Applications are due by February 15th of each year for scholarships applicable to the following academic year, starting in the fall. Aging at Home Fairbanks Scholarship
To provide financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to students enrolled in training programs for home care professionals at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Initially, this is intended for students enrolled in the Personal Care Attendance certificate program but could include related programs in the future.
Albert E. and Shirley M. Belon Scholarship
To provide scholarships for University of Alaska Fairbanks students with a graduate focus of study on physics or geophysics, or with an undergraduate focus of study in nursing. This scholarship is restricted to residents of the United States because Shirley wished to honor her late husband who immigrated to the United States in 1949 and later became a citizen himself, and who believed strongly that his decision to become a permanent resident of the US made him a true US citizen.
Arctic Chapter of National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) Scholarship
Minimum Award: $500
To provide scholarships for students in any field of study, with a preference for those in fields promoting the transportation industry (i.e. logistics, business, etc.), and who are members of NDTA, at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Associated General Contractors (AGC) UAF CTC Construction Management Scholarship
To provide scholarships to UAF/CTC students who are Applied Associate of Science (AAS) degree-seeking students, working towards a construction management degree at UAF’s Community and Technical College.
Battalion Chief Phil Rounds Scholarship
Minimum Award: $1,000
Phil Rounds served the University of Alaska as both a Battalion Chief for the University Fire Department and as an Adjunct Professor for CTC. This scholarship is for fire science majors. Preference will be given to students employed at the University Fire Department. All students in fire science are eligible to apply.
Betty Ross Mattson Scholarship
Minimum Award: $500
To provide scholarship assistance to needy students and associated costs in the advertisement and administration of this scholarship, i.e., the publication of an informational brochure on Betty Ross Mattson. Preference will be given to students studying nutrition with an emphasis in health care (see letter dated 6/94 which changes this to a scholarship for nursing students).
Bob Johnson Aviation Memorial Scholarship
Minimum Award: $500
To assist UAF/CTC student(s) wishing to take course work in the area of aviation technology.
Chef Frank Davis Jr. Memorial CTC Culinary Arts Scholarship
Minimum Award: $1,000
To provide scholarships funds for students enrolled in the CTC Food Service. These funds may be used for tuition, lab fees, books, and related expenses.
Christine Pennington Memorial Scholarship
Minimum Award: $1,000
To provide scholarship assistance to students majoring in emergency services attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks who are volunteer firefighters or medics at any volunteer fire department in the Fairbanks area.
Connie B. Kalita Memorial Scholarship
Minimum Award: $500
To provide scholarship support on an annual rotating basis to students majoring in nursing or music at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
CTC Culinary Arts Scholarship Endowment
Minimum Award: $500
To provide scholarship funds for students enrolled in the Culinary Arts Program at the Community and Technical College, University of Alaska Fairbanks
Dave McCloud Aviation Memorial Endowment
To provide financial assistance for tuition and other related education expenses to a full-time degree-seeking student enrolled in an Aviation program at any campus in the University of Alaska system.
Dental Education Endowment
To provide general program support as well as scholarship support for the dental assisting and dental hygiene programs at the University of Alaska.
Don and Fritz Ebert Berry Scholarship
Minimum Award: $300
To assist full-time student(s) enrolled in the Aircraft Mechanics Program offered by CTC.
Doris Southall Nursing Scholarship
Minimum Award: $500
To provide scholarships to students enrolled in that portion of the UAA Nursing Program which is conducted at UAF (currently the first five semesters of the Nursing program). If the University’s nursing programs are reconfigured in the future, this scholarship shall be used to support students taking nursing courses or enrolled in nursing programs at UAF. Should such nursing programs be transferred completely from UAF, the Scholarship may be awarded to students in the pre-medical programs at UAF.
Esther Louise Largen Nursing Scholarship
Minimum Award: Covers 1 year tuition, books, and fees
To provide scholarships to University of Alaska Fairbanks Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) students or Associate of Applied Science nursing students at the University of Alaska Fairbanks who are participating in the Fairbanks-based cohort of the University of Alaska Anchorage registered nursing outreach program through UAF’s Community and Technical College. Note: It is the desire of the donor to inspire students to reach their highest academic endeavors in nursing. Therefore one recipient will continue to receive scholarship support throughout the enrollment in the nursing program at UAF CTC as long as they remain eligible.
Everts Aviation Scholarship
To provide financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to students enrolled in airframe and/or power plant and/or aviation maintenance programs at the University of Alaska Fairbanks’ Community and Technical College. Everts Air encourages and supports growth in the aviation industry in Alaska.
George D. Walton Memorial Scholarship
Minimum Award: $500
To provide scholarships to undergraduate students from Alaska at the University of Alaska Fairbanks; preference to aviation or political science majors.
Hetherington Family Endowment
To provide financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to airframe and power plant students at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
John B. and Mae M. Hakala Scholarship
Minimum Award: $1,000 (maximum not to exceed 1/2 annual full-time tuition charge)
To provide a general scholarship for undergraduate students pursuing a degree at UAF in natural resources management (forestry), wildlife biology, biological sciences, or pursuing a career in nursing.
John Kevin Lamm Memorial Scholarship
To provide scholarships for freshman and sophomore students with a demonstrated commitment to public safety at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Students need not be justice majors so long as their interest and commitment to public safety is adequately represented through the essay requirement.
John R. Hulbert Scholarship
Minimum Award: $1,000
To provide scholarships for non-traditional students who are single parents balancing life/family responsibilities.
Loren “Bud” and Vicki Rotroff Scholarship
Minimum Award: $1,000 annually
To provide scholarship to UAF’s Fire Science students. Law Enforcement and Paramedic students may be considered if no qualified Fire Science students apply.
Marie Phibbs Culinary Arts Scholarship
Minimum Award: $500
To provide scholarships for undergraduate culinary arts students at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Marty Thies Memorial Endowment Fund
Minimum Award: $300
To assist undergraduate students first and then graduate students interested in furthering their knowledge and/or skills in the field of Office Occupation/Business Supervision.

To provide scholarships to UAF CTC students who are Applied Associate of Science (AAS) degree-seeking students, working towards a construction management degree at UAF’s Community and Technical College.

To assist undergraduate student(s) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks in studies pertaining to Alaska. Preference will be given to students with an interest in Security/Fire or secretarial work. The intent of this fund is to increase the body of knowledge about Alaska and to train professionals who will contribute to Alaska and its people.
Rev. Dr. Bob and Dr. Sharon Swope Scholarship
To provide scholarships for students pursuing careers in health science, science education or science reporting. Appropriate majors include emergency services, justice, journalism, biology, nursing, chemistry and education.
Ruth Lister Scholarship
Minimum Award: $1,000 per year
To provide scholarships for single mothers attending the Community and Technical College at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Schaible Health Care Services Scholarship
Minimum Award: $500
To provide scholarships for part-time students enrolled in programs in the health care services field at the CTC and Kuskokwim campus at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). It is the intent of the donor that, should there be sufficient qualified applicants, two thirds (2/3) of the amount awarded each year be to students at CTC and the remaining one third (1/3) be awarded to students attending Kuskokwim campus.
Stacy Kaiser Memorial Fund
Minimum Award: $1,000
To provide scholarship(s) to radiologic technology student(s) at the Community and Technical College at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, who are in their 2nd year and are Alaska residents. Financial need will be the primary consideration with academic excellence secondary. The Radiologic Technology Program Coordinator/Director should participate in the selection of recipients.

To provide financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to students enrolled in programs within the Community and Technical College, located at the University of Alaska Fairbanks

UAF Process Tech Alumni Scholarship
To provide financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to students majoring in Process Technology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Recipients must be undergraduate students. Preference will given to students who are graduates of an Alaskan high school. It is the desire of the donor that the recipient maintain a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or higher.
