UAF Community and Technical College provides specialized military support and advising for active-duty military, dependents and Veterans. UAF CTC provides classes and services to meet the educational needs of military personnel and their families and we are committed to helping you find a pathway to complete a degree through one-on-one advising, flexible class scheduling, and online/hybrid degree programs. Staff members are available to explain programs and courses and assist in registration and admissions.

On-Site Courses & Degree Programs
On-site courses are offered on evenings to accommodate student work schedules. Within a regular semester, accelerated terms are also offered. Civilians are also welcome to utilize these services and to attend classes at any of our locations.
UAF Community & Technical College offers a variety of degrees also offered online that can be started in-person and then continued online; perfect for anticipated transfers or other moves.
Advising Services
Specialized military student advising is available via phone, online, or in-person at UAF CTC’s downtown center. Advisors will assist students in developing a clearly defined degree program. The University of Alaska Fairbanks recognizes and awards credit for military training and experience as notated on the military student’s Joint Services Transcript. Staff is available to explain programs and courses, as well as assist with administration processes and registration.
Registration
Students may register for classes online or in person at UAF CTC’s Student Services office at our downtown Fairbanks center.
Financial Aid
CTC military advisors will provide students with basic information pertaining to financial aid, military tuition assistance, Veteran’s education benefits, Pell grants, guaranteed student loans, and other military subsidies available. The advisors will guide students to the resources to assist with individual needs.
Military members should visit with their UAF CTC advisor for information about tuition assistance.
Tuition & Fees
Military members, their spouse and their dependent children, and veterans eligible for VA educational benefits, their spouse and dependent children, pay resident tuition rates. Military tuition assistance covers tuition only; military students are responsible for fees associated with their courses.
The My Career Advancement Account Scholarship (MyCAA)
CTC Advisors assists spouses of active-duty service members in pay grades E-1 to E-6, W-1 to W-2 and O-1 to O-3 in filling out their Education & Training Plan (ETP). MyCAA covers tuition only. Students are responsible for fees. MyCAA can be used in conjunction with Pell Grant.
